Post-Season Hopefuls

Now that we are into April, it’s time for the  NHL and NBA Playoffs and I think both the Penguins and the Cavs are going to make a pretty deep run into the post-season.  The Pens are playing their best hockey of the season right now and believe their biggest challenge is getting past the Flyers in round one. If they do, look out !!!   As far as the Cavs, I don’t see LeBron and company being challenged until the NBA Finals by the Lakers, the only team to beat the Cavs at home during the regular season.  This just seems like a magical season for the Cavs.  It they can only avoid the Cleveland jinx, you know….the drive, the fumble, the shot, etc. etc.

Speaking of hoops, I really enjoyed covering and watching the Erie BayHawks this season, their first in Erie and hope it returns next season.  Really no reason why it shouldn’t.  The players were great, guys like Ivan Harris from Ohio State, Jackie Manuel from North Carolina and Erik Daniels from Kentucky joined us for one of our shows at Slugger’s during March Madness and were very engaging.  I can see why they are fan favorites.  I think the general sports public learned the quality of play in the NBA D-League as the season progressed.  It was amazing to say the least !!!  I look for better crowds next season.
