DON’T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE COLD

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

It can always be worse!  After our recent cold snap (or as some called it a “cold-OH-SNIPPITY-Snap”), Margaret Keller of Albion sent us a picture from 1994.
The thermometer reads about -25 degrees.  The coldest temperature ever recorded in nearby Erie (the official National Weather Service Station) was recorded that same day at -18.

ALREADY ABOVE AVERAGE

Monday, January 12th, 2009

In respects to snowfall this season, we have already gone above and beyond what would be considered “average”.  First let me start by saying that I believe there is no “normal” weather, but there is “average” weather since every season, good or bad, has an effect on the average.
That being said, we have already had [...]

WHAT A DECEMBER

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Look at me starting 2009 off by looking to the past.  Hopefully I will not have bad luck for doing this, but how could I ignore this past December?
Despite a couple of warmer days thrown into the mix, December was a very wintry month.  Just looking at snowfall alone is quite impressive.  This past December [...]
